Mission Statement
The mission statement of More than Moore's (MtM) Precision Medicine Solutions is to facilitate the research needed to expand the use and implementation of individualized/precision medicine in order to improve patient outcomes. MtM provides precision medicine advisory services to help manage routine and preventative care as well as addressing serious or complex conditions. Our integrated approach provides comprehensive access to the latest clinical data and advanced analytics. Understanding the complex and ever-changing field of precision medicine testing and molecular profiling can be overwhelming. Moore's Law
In 1965, Gordon Moore postulated that approximately every two years, the number of transistors on microchips will double. The law claims that we can expect the speed and capability of our computers to increase at this rate every two years indefinitely, while the cost decreases. When plotted over time, Moore's Law holds largely true, and the growth has remained almost exponential.
Similarly, the cost of DNA sequencing followed Moore's Law at the beginning of the 2000's; the cost per genome decreased exponentially during this time period. In the subsequent years however, scientific discoveries significantly reduced DNA sequencing costs to the point that they were decreasing at a rate that was far "More than Moore's" Law.
Scientific Discoveries Outpace Clinical Implementation
According to the National Human Genome Research Institute, in addition to technical advancements in DNA sequencing, other scientific discoveries utilizing data from this technology have allowed precision medicine capabilities to advance at a rate that is also "More than Moore's" Law over the past 10-15 yrs. Unfortunately though, the clinical implementation of these discoveries lags far behind. MtM closes that gap to bring the future of precision medicine to patients and commercial partners today.
